Jazz pianist and composer Ari Erev performs regularly in Israel and in Europe in Piano Solo or Trio settings.
His music blends a deep classical touch, producing an intimate,
delicate and emotional style which is inspired by pianists such as Bill Evans and Fred Hersch,
with an energetic, latin-oriented and rhythmic drive, such as those found with pianist Michell Petrucciani, to produce a mature voice of his own.
"Close to Home" tells the story of family members, close friends and familiar places, to whom we relate and feel deep emotions towards. The music melds highly-melodic Jazz, wrapped in rich harmony textures and Latin-inspired rhythms with soulful sound and sensitive playing conveying deep emotions and an artistically-performed personal voice.
"True twenty first century modern jazz sensibilities...
remarkable tonality and improvisational skills... Superbly presented...
Greatly enhances the profile of Israeli jazz on the world scene."
"...Beautifully melodic, with strong rhythmic presence...Erev is a wonderful songweaver... His magic touch on the keyboard is pure delight... with glimpses of Bill Evans lurking from above.
Another solid addition to Erev's recorded legacy, and a fine portrait of the diversity of Israeli Jazz... Highly recommended,"
"Ever the melodicist and bestower of hope and light... beauty which clearly amplifies its overarching title...
There's a warmth and a focus that... reflects the album theme.
'Falling in Place' is certainly an irresistible, tightly executed, good-time gem!"
"a pianist with a very rich imagination and an unlimited spectrum of perceiving the smallest subtleties and weaving them into refined sound structures.
...music (that is) elevated to the highest degree of color...
...a coherent, beautiful story, full of lyrical elation, lightness and natural openness...
A real dream team !"

Inspired by the music of central and south America, the Nocturno quartet plays the music of these countries' great composers: Jose Sabre Marroquin (Mexico), Martin Rojaz (Cuba), Astor Piazzola (Argentine), Hermeto Pascoal (Brazil), among others.
Using these wonderful compositions as a base,
the quartet integrates the romantic elements of
Cuban and Mexican Bolero's, and the Latin
tempi of south America, and adds its own
modern Jazz interpretation and open
improvisation, blending it with original and
middle-eastern material.
